David Presley visits Memphis

In 2010 we visited Memphis the home of Elvis as part of our honeymoon.  What an amazing city the home of the blues is.  From the moment you arrive you are immediately aware that you have entered a musical city which is proud of their sons and daughters. The Peabody Hotel is beautiful and of course there are the Peabody Ducks which are both amusing and talented. I would tell you about them but it would spoil the spectacle if you decided to visit. We stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel because I wanted to say I had stayed there.

Sun Records is a must and makes the hairs on the back of you neck stand up. To be in the studio where not only Elvis recorded his first song, but also artists such as Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis recorded their own timeless music. The Rock and Soul Museum allows all who visit to return to an era where music was innocent and pure.  And then there is Beale Street in the heart of Memphis.  Never have I seen a street where music is its very soul.  Every bar is filled with live bands and appreciative audiences. The welcome is warm and the memories last forever. Here is a video I put together to capture the city and my time there complete with a song you might know……
