On 3rd December 1968, NBC broadcast a show simply entitled ‘Elvis’, which has come to be known affectionately today as the ’68 Comeback Special’. Until this show, Elvis hadn’t appeared in front of a live audience since 1961, when he raised $65,000 for the USS Arizona Memorial Fund at Pearl Harbour. What transpired was the crowning of the King of Rock and Roll. David Presley slips into the black leathers and delivers a passionate, high octane tribute to this piece of television history.

This show is pure Rock and Roll with staple tracks such as ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Hound Dog’, and ‘All Shook Up’ being top of the bill. Faithfull to the original show, ‘Trouble’ and ‘Guitar Man’ intertwine with other classic songs that have been given a modern twist, such as ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy’.

No show can stay super charged throughout and this is why ballads were included to ensure Elvis paced himself. The King serenaded the audience with ‘Love Me’ and ‘Are you Lonesome Tonight’ and this too is captured in the tribute.

Originally billed as a Christmas Special, the ‘68 Comeback’ incorporated ‘Blue Christmas’ and ‘Santa Claus is Back in Town’, to satisfy Colonel Tom Parker; however only the former made the final cut. Upon request David Presley will bring a sprinkle of Christmas to this tribute during the festive season, by singing some of the Kings most memorable Christmas songs.

David Presley as 68 Comeback Elvis would like you to celebrate the greatest entertainer of all time; in a tribute to Elvis’s triumphant return to form. This show can be mixed with either or both the GI Elvis and Las Vegas Concert tributes and a full list of potential songs are available on request.
